Roland Dell "Ronnie" Adams

Roland Dell “Ronnie” Adams (01/13/1945 – 04/03/2026), 81, of Stonewall, LA, passed away, peacefully, in the hospital with family at his side on the morning of Friday, April 3, 2026. He was born January 13, 1945, in Shreveport, to Hugh Dell Adams and Elsie Maude (Waters) Adams.

As a young boy, he delivered newspapers for The Shreveport Times , then worked for Weingarten’s. He graduated Fairpark High School, and married Judy Carol Gilley. They had three children. After their divorce, he married Lucille (Chism) Early on April 15, 1976, and helped raise her two children. While working for Western Electric, for a few years he simultaneously worked as an auxiliary peace officer with the Shreveport Police Department and for Tom’s Foods, Inc., filling vending machines on weekends.

In his younger years he was a weight-lifter, softball player, hunter, and fisherman. He loved his wife of nearly 50 years very much, and he enjoyed keeping up with college and professional football, and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie (Waters) Adams; father, Hugh Dell Adams; stepmother, Edith (Merret) Murray; brother, Charles Wayne Adams; and stepbrother, Jackie L. Jones. He leaves behind his wife, Lucille (Chism) Adams of Stonewall, LA; stepsister, Andrea (Jones) Cooper, of Longview, TX; son, Jeff Adams and Stephanie of Lacey, WA; son Mark Adams and Yolanda, of Rainier, WA; daughter, Yvette Walsh and Chris, of Bossier City, LA; stepdaughter, Donna Otwell and Larry of Stonewall, LA; stepson Kenny Early and Sue of Marthaville, LA; plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, in-laws, etc.,

A small memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
