Rodney "Rod" Charles Dollar

Rodney Charles Dollar, 69, was born April 15th, 1956, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Hollis and Betty Faye Dollar. Rod passed away suddenly on January 16th, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rod was a 1975 Minden High School graduate and then attended Louisiana Tech University. Rod worked in construction for B.E. & K for several years before obtaining his horticulturist license. Rod served the Minden and surrounding areas since 1983 as the owner and operator of R&R Lawn and Landscape. He was well known for his creative eye, unique landscaping designs, and incredible rockwork. He credited his love for landscape to the countless hours he spent picking weeds outside Principal Pat Nation’s window at the old Lowe Jr. High School. After retirement in 2023, Rod began taking it slow and enjoyed spending his days teaching all of his tricks and sharing life lessons with his grandkids, watching his shows and listening to the oldies.

Rod and his wife, Janette, spent many years together traveling and called home to Virginia and Florida before eventually settling back in Minden where they raised two wonderful daughters, Haley and Pepper. Rod lived a life that was filled with hard work, community service, and most importantly time spent with family. Rod loved laughing and could always be counted on to crack a joke, poke fun at someone, and share a laugh with friends and family. Rod is known fondly for many things including his tinkering in metal work and creative flare for gift-giving.

Rod is preceded in death by his parents Hollis and Betty Faye Dollar, brother, Ronnie Dollar, in-laws J.W. & Loree Clemons, and brother-in-law, J. Shane Clemons.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Janette Dollar, daughters, Haley Perryman (Stan), Pepper Dollar, and grandchildren Karlie, Stance, Lexie, and Claiborne. Siblings, Randall Dollar (Raynette), Rhonda Wafford (Tony), sisters-in-law Twyla Dollar and Jennifer Day (Rick) and brother-in-law Jeff Clemons as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Nicholas Duncan. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Stance Perryman, Stan Perryman, Garrett Day, Tanner Cox, Maddox Vise, and Stephen Malloy.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Dollar, Kyle Dollar, Carl Dollar, Jake Wallace, Hunter Clemons, Rick Day, and Van Cox.
