Rodney Leo Haynes

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Rodney Leo Haynes, age 76, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Stephen Beard, officiating. Interment will be at State Line Cemetery near Walkers Creek, AR. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.,

Rodney was born December 21, 1949, in Springhill, LA, to Elva Drew and Catherine Hadley Haynes. He entered into rest on September 28, 2026, in Homer, LA. after a brief illness. Rodney grew up in Springhill and graduated from Plain Dealing. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. For about 20 years, Rodney worked for Union National and Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company as a insurance agent and even won a trip to Hawaii. In Springhill and Homer, Rodney was employed at the Good Homer Center for several years. Bays Alternator and Starters was another job he held over the years. Living on Lake Claiborne afforded Rodney to fish anytime he wanted to go fishing from a boat or a pier. He was big on water safety, especially with the kids, and showing them how to fish brought him great joy. He was a Christian and knew the Bible by heart. Rodney loved and enjoyed making memories with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ivy Boyett; first wife and the mother of his children, Ollie Lynn Miller Haynes; and two brothers, Travis Drew Haynes and Freddie Haynes.

He is survived by the love of his life for 23 years, Betty Glenn Haynes; son. Shawn Christopher Haynes; daughter, Tiffanie Haynes Spillers and husband Christopher; step-son, Roger Lee Smith and wife Brittney and; two step-daughters, Heather Smith Watts and husband Taff, and Angela Smith Self and husband Brad; twelve grandchildren, Amber, Zoey, C.J., Dakota, Shelli, Alexis, Whitney, Maggie, Gracie, Michael, Blakey and Bowen; one great-granddaughter, Braelynn; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Taff Watts, Michael Watts, Roger Smith, Travis Paul Haynes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Spillers and Ronald Day.
