Roderick "Roddy" Blaine Rivers

A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate the life of Roderick “Roddy” Blaine Rivers, 49, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 307 Hammond Street, Zwolle, Louisiana with Fr. Tim Hurd officiating. Burial to follow the service in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held for Roddy on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. 

Roddy was born on November 11, 1973, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Joseph Douglas Rivers and Bonnie Gayle Brandon. He passed away on June 28, 2023 at his residence in Zwolle, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Brandon; his brother, Jason Rivers; his paternal grandparents, Robert Otis and Elzado Rivers; and his maternal grandparents, Quinton and Nannie Brandon.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his father, Joseph Douglas Rivers and wife, Shirley of Many, LA; his sister, Quinn Bowermeister of Ruston, LA; his brothers, Cole Rivers and wife, Michelle of Frierson, LA, Seth Rivers of Many, LA, Dakota Rivers and wife, Taylor of Bossier City, LA, and Landon Rivers of Many, LA; his nieces, Abby Rivers, Preslye Rivers, Madison Rivers, and Maddie Davis; his nephews, Jason Rivers and Malikye Rivers; along with a host of aunts, uncles, friends, and other family members. 

Honoring Roddy as pallbearers will be Cole Rivers, Seth Rivers, Dakota Rivers, Landon Rivers, Joey Golden, Josh Lewis, Quinn Bowermeister, Cade Rivers, Chris Gates, & Lee Brandon. Chad Martinez, Johnathon Procell, Jacob Ezernack, Eric Laroux, Shane Rivers, and “Bubba” Lance Rivers will serve as his honorary pallbearers. 

Roddy was a kind-hearted, fun-loving person.  He loved to hunt and even though he never had kids of his own, he loved all children, especially his nieces and nephews.
