Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Harrem Harrell, 102, will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Tommy Patton.
Bob was born on October 20, 1922, in Atlanta, Texas to H.R. Harrell and Dixie Harrison Harrell Wilkerson and passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War 2 in both Europe and the South Pacific. After leaving the U.S. Navy, he started working in the Oil and Gas Industry where he worked in Europe, the Middle East, and throughout North America for over 40 years. During this time, he also developed historic family property to raise cattle and crops in Cass County, Texas until he reached 99 years of age. His other passions included watching baseball games, old western TV shows, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, H.R. Harrell; mother, Dixie Harrison Harrell Wilkerson; wife, Anne Marie Harrell; sisters, Marsha “Neal” Wade, Virginia Sumner, Rochelle “Doll” Van Hoof, and Quenten Pugh; sons, Robert A. “Bimbo” Harrell; Leonard E. Edmondson, and William C. Edmondson.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Donna Harrell, grandson, Robert M. Harrell and wife, Heather Harrell; granddaughter, Carla Edmondson; great-grandson, Robert Austin Harrell and wife, Kendall Harrell; great-granddaughter, Halle Elizabeth Harrell; sisters, Donnie Clark, and Ella Warrington; brother, Kenneth Wilkerson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Honoring Bob as pallbearers will be John Allen, Winston Ebarb, Robert A. Harrell, Robert M. Harrell, Tommy Wilder, Jesse Wilder, and the VFW Honor Guard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Pugh, Noal Davis, and David Allen.
