Robert is survived by his siblings: Marlaine and her husband John Pitre (Picayune, MS), Pat Megehee (Dubberly, LA), Lolita Lee (Carriere, MS), Annette Dean (Lexington, TX), Sylvia Powell (Shreveport, LA), Jonathan’s wife Sharon Glasscock, David and his wife Marsha Glasscock (Minden, LA), and Darlaine Cook and her partner Nita Vickers (Heflin, LA). Nieces and Nephews include: Coleman Pitre, Nolan Megehee, Mike Megehee, Randy Glasscock, David Glasscock, Jesse Lee Jr., Danny Lee, Shelly Lee-Guerra, Sheila Lindsay, Diana Wilkinson, Alyshia Coulson, Matthew Glasscock, Nathan Glasscock, Jonathan Glasscock, Hollie Glasscock, Josh Robinson, and Heath Robinson.

Growing up in Minden, Robert was a cute, sweet child to which his darling older sister Annette nicknamed him Buzz, after her favorite character in the 1960s show “Route 66”. That moniker would be foretelling, for Buzz would lead a life reverberating with fun, laughter, and love.

Buzz delved into various fields amid the span of his life, from a notable tenure at AT&T to attending Panola College, where he studied Forestry to reflect his dear brother Jonathan’s career in Wildlife & Fisheries. Despite his seasoned job experiences with varied companies over the years, his proudest career decision was when he started his own a decade ago, as a certified Sports Massage Therapist until his recent retirement just last year.

Though a hard worker his whole life, Buzz knew how to have fun. Most days you could catch him relaxing in his Shreveport home hot tub nursing a cold beer or two, likely reminiscing of his old souped-up Corvette and beloved truck. He also enjoyed traveling and hanging with family and friends, whether it was escaping to Key West, enjoying the vibrant energy of Las Vegas with his casino winnings or having dinner & toasting margaritas at his favorite local Mexican cantina after a day on the lake.

The love and care in Buzz’s heart extended to his fur-family, especially his many Chihuahuas over the years, especially his dear Pixie. He not only tended to her daily needs, but also fed any other neighboring cats and even stray raccoons that would enter or cross paths into his yard. He supported many animal rescue organizations, prompting his selfless nature to give time and money to their causes.

The family would like to specially thank Buzz’s best friend, Natalie Dubois — her devotion to him til the very end was a beautiful thing to witness. We are all grateful to her and consider her a part of the family.

We would also like to thank his wonderful friends, Hank Adams and Abby Galloway, as well as his neighbors, Larry & Diana Teeter, for everything they did for him in his final days. We cannot thank you all enough.

A Celebration of Life for Buzz will be held on August 5th, 2023 at 2:30pm at his residence, 3143 Green Terrace Rd, Shreveport, LA. There will be a private ceremony preceding the celebration to spread his ashes.
