Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Robbie Jo McDonald Emmels will be held at Belmont Union Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00PM with Brother Ronnie Sandifer officiating and interment to follow at Fender Cemetery in Many, LA. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM. Robbie Emmels was born April 14, 1949 in Converse, Louisiana to R. B. McDonald and Gwenona Florence Thibodeaux McDonald and entered into rest on December 15, 2019 in Shreveport, LA.
Robbie was a loving mother. If you ever met her you instantly had a friend and loved her. She loved to cook, spoil her grandbabies, and to listen to gospel music. In addition, on Friday nights she never failed to listen to Many Tiger Football; she would get all excited like she did when she went to the games. She will be greatly missed by so many of her family and friends.
Preceding Robbie in death were her parents; her husband, Gino Emmels of 29 years. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gina Emmels of Many, LA; Jennifer Sims & husband, Shea of Robeline, LA; Mieke Emmels & fiancé, Jules Chauvin of Baton Rouge, LA; Marsha Harrison & husband, Chris of Bossier City, LA; son, Pat Emmels & wife, Marsha of Lafayette, LA; brother, Jimmy Duraso & wife, Brenda of Belmont. In addition, she leaves behind eight grandchildren: Brittian Emmels, Colin Emmels, Laney Emmels, Diederik Emmels, Marshall Sims, Joshua Moore, Jayden Harrison, & Tyler Harrison; one great grandchild, Nolan Patrick Emmels; and a host of other family members and friends.
Honoring Robbie as pallbearers will be Shea Sims, Dale Sims, Colin Emmels, Richard Isgitt, Rick McConnell, and Trent Chaney. Honorary pallbearers for Robbie will be Diederik Emmels, Brittian Emmels, Joshua Moore, Nolan Emmels, Jayden Harrison, Tyler Harrison, Marshall Sims, and Jimmy Duraso.
