The Lord called Mrs. Robbie Rentz Clingan home to be with Him on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Mrs. Clingan was a native of Shreveport, LA and her parents were Milton D. and Gertrue Bean Rentz. A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Robbie Rentz Clingan will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Chad Hardbarger and the Reverend Keith Payne will officiate. A private interment will follow. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Albert T. "Mike" Clingan; her two daughters, Debbie Frey and husband, Doug, and Denise Griffin; her precious grandchildren, Kristy Payne and husband, Keith, Katy McCown and husband, Luke, Kathleen Frey, and Michael Frey and wife, Hanna; and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Clingan dearly loved her family and was very devoted to Katy, Kristy, Kathleen and Michael, and their families, who called her "Nanna." She is also survived by her nephew, Robert Hoffman and sister-in-law, Cynthia Moss. Mrs. Clingan was a very active Charter Member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and served with Mr. Clingan as associate teacher of the Celebrate Class for many years; she was the Church Clerk and a member of the Archives Committee. Mrs. Clingan was a great lover of music and had sung in the church choir for many years; she loved to sing praises to God. She loved her church and did her best to serve God and the church faithfully. Mrs. Clingan was retired from New York Life Insurance Company as Executive Secretary to the General Manager for 23 years. She was a member and past president of the Louisiana Assessor's Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member and past president of the Rotary Ann Auxiliary in Shreveport. Honoring Mrs. Clingan as pallbearers will be Michael Frey, Mike Asher, Harry Fletcher, Glen Hall, Bob Johnston and Harvey Ramsey. Mrs. Clingan's family suggests that memorials may be made in her name to Emmanuel Baptist Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission.
