Rita Beth Wood

A funeral service celebrating the life of Rita Beth Wood, 82, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta with Bro. Mike Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery in the Fairview community. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wood was born on February 25, 1941, in Coushatta, LA to Benton Youree and Dorothy Warren Mangham and passed August 14, 2023, in Shreveport, LA.  

Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Wood; daughter, Amie Cross; granddaughter, Lauren Wood Mitchell; and brother, Stanley “Sonny” Mangham.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeffrey Wood and wife, Paige and Chris Wood and wife, Misty; brother, Leslie Mangham and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Mallory Yount and husband, Taylor, Saxi Tuggle and husband, B. J., Darren Wood and Anthony Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Kynslie Tuggle, Ryder Tuggle, Oaklyn Beth Tuggle, Darren Wood, Jr., Ella Wood, Benton Tayte Yount, Alexis Yount, Riley Mitchell, Dash Mitchell, and Jeffrey Crue Mitchell; special niece, Myra; special sister-in-law, Judy; close friends, Diane Allison and Sharron Triggs.

Honoring Mrs. Wood as pallbearers will be Anthony Mitchell, Taylor Yount, Darren Wood, B. J. Tuggle, Stephen Giddens, and Austin Giddens. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Ronald Dale Smith.
