Funeral services for Rita Sue Walker Price will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, La. 71109. Officiating the service will be Brother Scott Shirley. Rita passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at home with loved ones by her side on Friday, March 10, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Columbus O. Walker and Susie Balentine Walker; husband of 64 years, Glenn Price; brothers, C.O. Walker and Wallace Walker; sister, Bertie Lou Liberto and husband, Vincent; son, Donnie Price; granddaughter, Monica Shaye Price; daughter, Glenda Price Mann; son, David Price; cousins, Anne Landers, Benjie Landers, Ralph Balentine, Stephanie Fuller Mayo, and lifelong friends, Dorothy Ake and Dorris Edmonds. Rita is survived by her daughter, Debra "Dubber" Price Lobrano and partner, Davis Fuller; grandchildren, Glenn Jackson and wife, Regina, Matt Price and wife, Brandy, Michele Lobrano Katsaris and husband, Steve, Lisa Lobrano Burson and husband, Jason, Brad Peccio and wife, Amy, Misty Peccio, Michael Todd Lobrano and wife, Allison and Jenni Smith and husband, Stephen; the many great-grandchildren whom were her life; niece, Mary Owens Sheppard and husband, John; cousin, Lin Pomes and wife, Jan; numerous nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Dorothy Culbertson. Rita \"Goose\" found joy in fishing, playing cards, bingo and casino hopping with her friends and family. She was proud to be the great-great-granddaughter of Louisiana Governor, Joseph Marshall Walker who served from 1850 to 1853. Of his many accomplishments she was proud of, he was the first Governor to be inaugurated in the new Baton Rouge state capitol and \"opened the door to free education\". The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Southern Care Hospice and a very special thank you to her angels, Amber Suttle, RN and Barbara Trippe, CNA for their unparalleled care and compassion. Honoring Rita as pallbearers will be Will Whittmer, Matt Price, Glenn Jackson, Brad Peccio, Elliot Clark and John Sheppard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Davis Fuller and Tanner Kerley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or American Cancer Society, 920 Pierremont Rd #300, Shreveport, LA 71106. She will be greatly missed and loved for eternity by all that knew her.
