Richard Michael "Mike" Westbrook

A graveside service for Richard Michael “Mike” Westbrook, 52, will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr. Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Deacon Clary Nash. 

Mike was born on January 4, 1972, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Richard Seagraves Westbrook and Terry Yvonne LaCaze in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Haughton, Louisiana.

Mike's personality shone brightly through his deep connections with those around him, particularly with his beloved grandparents. He thrived in the company of children, finding joy in engaging in their imaginative worlds and nurturing their curiosities. Those who conversed with Mike often found themselves drawn into meaningful discussions, as he had a remarkable gift for connecting with others on a profound level.

Beyond his interpersonal talents, Mike had a multitude of interests that defined his vibrant character. An avid reader, he often opted for the pages of a book over television, immersing himself in stories and information that expanded his understanding of the world. His fascination with military planes, particularly the United States Air Force and fighter jets, showcased his appreciation for history and technology, fueling countless hours of research and learning.

A lover of animals, Mike had a special bond with the feline friend he cared for, establishing a warm home environment that reflected his kind-hearted nature. Mike will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Fly High!

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard S. Westbrook, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Terry L. Saxon; stepfather, Butch Saxon; sister, Kayla Westbrook, and stepsister, Kim Holt.
