Bossier City, LA - A memorial service for Richard Paul Rice will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Rose-Neath Bossier. Richard was born in Wilmington, DE on September 15, 1943 and passed away August 6, 2019 in Bossier City, LA.
Richard was a longtime resident of the Shreveport-Bossier City area. He grew up in Omaha, NE and Shreveport, LA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Prairie during the Vietnam War. He was later employed at a pharmaceutical company. Richard's passion was fishing, especially for bass on Toledo Bend, trout on the Chattahoochee River, and going deep sea fishing in Galveston, TX or Destin, FL. He was also an avid bowler who loved the sport for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rosalie Rice.
Richard is survived by his wife of 26 years, Regena Rice of Bossier City, LA; sons, Ricky Rice and wife, Nickelyn Gaffud of Winder, GA, Keith Kocher and wife, Elissa of Shreveport, LA, Kevin Kocher of Milton, FL, Rusty Rice and wife, Kristi of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Renee Rice Gordon and husband, Matthew of Shreveport, LA, Kim Kocher of Winchester, VA; sister, Ronda Brooks and husband, Mike of Bossier City, LA; brother, Bob Rice of Bossier City, LA; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and three nephews.
