Richard Chaisson, age 55, passed away on Saturday, Jan 10, 2026, at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Richard proudly served in the Air Force after graduating high school, embracing the adventure of seeing the world and forming lifelong friendships. His passion for search and rescue was a defining part of his military service, and he was immensely proud of his role as a veteran.

After returning to the states, Richard continued to serve his community by working both the state penitentiary and later at the federal prison, where he appreciated the challenges and the opportunities it brought. Known for his great sense of humor, Richard had a joke for every occasion, and his laughter will be dearly missed.

In addition, Richard was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son, and he approached life with a versatile spirit and a warm heart. We are grateful for the care provided by the nurses and doctors during his difficult time and encourage donations to charity or planting a tree in his honor instead of flowers.

He will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and their baby, Robin Chaisson and Dolly Pardon; Sons, Josh (Lacee) Chassion of Marksville, Tyler (Alexis) Chaisson of Lacombe; Daughter, Brittni Chaisson of Erwinville, LA; Sisters, Lisa Chaisson of Marksville, Carolyn Istre of Crowley, Deliah Cormier (Elwood) of Rayne; Brothers, Ray Chaisson (Erica) of Marksville, Bobby Lavergne (Nancy) of Mississippi, Troy Chaisson (Alisha) of Crowley, Enes J.
