Richard Glen Johnson

A Celebration of Life for Richard “Glen” Johnson, 73, will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Provenance Clubhouse, 1955 Woodberry Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana.

Glen was born on August 17, 1951, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Leo Dale Johnson and Patricia Marie Pizanie Johnson. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Shreveport, surrounded by family.

If you knew Glen, you knew there was truly no one else like him. He was one of a kind—funny, full of stories, and tougher than a two-dollar steak. He lived his live with grit, heart, humor, and a whole lot of Cajun spice.

An electrical engineer by trade, Glen’s work took him to nearly every corner of the country and even across the pond to London, England. But no matter where he was, he never lost his love for home, family, and good food.

Speaking of food—nobody, and I mean nobody, could whip up a gumbo or a jambalaya like Glen. His kitchen was his stage, and we were always the lucky audience. There was always laughter, a cold Bud Light nearby, and if Alan Jackson’s “Good Time” came on, you could bet he’d be dancing.

Glen was married to the love of his life, Mona Lynn Herrington Johnson, for 43 wonderful years. Their love story was one of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional support—a partnership that weathered every storm and celebrated every joy.

Glen leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will miss him more than words can say: his daughters, Stephanie Johnson Negley (Todd) and Lauri Johnson Laney (Donnie); grandchildren, Tyler Rachelle Negley Emenheiser, Kodi Ashton Negley Dickey (Ronnie), Chase Jeremy Negley, Palyn Elizabeth Laney, and Madeline Marie Laney; great-grandchildren, Colt Ryker Emenheiser and Roman Eli Dickey; siblings, Constance Dale Suberbielle (Art), Brenda Gail Johnson, William Vaughn Johnson (Leslie), Pamalee Marie Kron (Edward Sr.), and Maurice Dale Johnson;
along with 13 nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mona, and his brother, Larry Edward Johnson.

We invite everyone who knew and loved him to join us as we celebrate his life, swap a few stories, and remember the man who made us laugh, taught us toughness, and loved us well.
