Rhonda Byrnes Kincaid, also known as “Lulu”, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at age 70, at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana, on January 3, 2026.
Rhonda was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana in 1955, by her two loving parents, Georgia Byrnes Massey and Samuel Houston Byrnes. She made her home in Keatchie, Louisiana, where she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Donald Kincaid.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Byrnes; her daughter, Carmen Preziosi; her son, John Michael Kincaid; her brother, Sammy Byrnes; and her brother-in-law, Jesse Rushing.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Kincaid; her mother, Georgia Massey; her sisters, Pam Kneipp and husband, Bill, and Patti Rushing; her brothers, Michael Byrnes and wife, Amy, and Timothy Byrnes and wife, Barbara; her children, Holly Riffel and husband, Brandon, Thomas Kincaid, Elizabeth Soto and husband, Luis, and Richard Kincaid and wife, Alicia; her grandchildren, Lindsey Coppedge, Jade Preziosi, Jeremy Simmons, Randy and Rhett Woodle, Morgan Foster, Sierra Matthews, Mary Grace Stotts, Jake and Lexi Farrell, Camden, Grayson, Amelia and Hayden Kincaid, and Olivia Soto. She has 15 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Her pallbearers are Michael and Timothy Byrnes, Richard and Thomas Kincaid and Randy and Rhett Woodle.
Rhonda was beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, so strong, outgoing, fun, friendly, loving, happy, artistic, spiritual, incredibly funny, completely fearless, and always up for a prank with a little mischievous sparkle. She truly never met a stranger.
She loved fishing and being outdoors, especially near the water, where she could paint its beauty onto canvas. Sports were another passion—especially watching her children and grandchildren play. She was proudly the loudest one in the stands. She enjoyed watching the races, cooking shows, and her “stories”. Rhonda loved traveling alongside Don on his business trips, often venturing out on her own to explore new places. She eagerly took in everything the world had to offer, meeting new people along the way, and making tons of wonderful memories.
Nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her family and her “super babies”. Teaching them how to fish, paint, or plant something completely lit her up. Her love was something you could almost instantly feel. She had a gift for brightening every room that she entered.
Rhonda earned a degree in commercial art from LSU-S and shared her talents across Louisiana, Texas and California. Through her work as a commercial artist—creating maps, labels, newspaper ads, signage and more—she added little bits of beauty to the world everywhere that she went. She even taught art at the college level for a time, sharing her passion with others.
Rhonda loved people, she loved life and she loved deeply. She taught all of us how to love better, laugh louder and live fearlessly. She will be truly and forever missed.
