A Visitation for Rev. Robert Lee McGaha, age 78, will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at the First United Pentecostal Church of Homer, 649 West Main Street, Homer, LA, from 5-8 p.m. A second Visitation will be held at Richland United Pentecostal Church, 365 Hwy 134, Rayville, LA, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from noon-2:00 p.m., and funeral will begin at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lonnie Spates, Rev. Jimmie Masters, and Rev. Kevin Cox, officiating. Interment will be at McKnight Cemetery in Holly Ridge, LA

Bro. Robert was born December 6, 1947, in Delhi, LA, to Homer L. and Sarah Copes McGaha. He entered into the rest of his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2025, in Homer, LA. Bro. Robert grew up in Bear Skin, Louisiana and graduated Pioneer High School. Bro. Robert earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business with a minor in Accounting. He and his wife, Pat, grew up in the church his dad pastored. He became a minister at age 19 years old and begin pastoring Bernice United Pentecostal Church for around 20 years. Bro. Robert begin pastoring Homer United Pentecostal Church approximately thirty-six years ago. Bro. Robert was the administrator of Presbyterian Village for thirty-two years. Bro. Robert lived a life of loving God and loving people. He preached weekly services in nursing homes and jails. Bro. Robert was more often found in the rooms of residents at the nursing home or playing dominoes with them than in his office. He was always willing to go the extra mile. He not only preached the Bible, but he lived it too. Bro. Robert always called himself a student of the Word of God. Bro. Robert always quoted Bro. McDaniel, “God does not heal old age.” His last coherent words were, “I’m ready to go home” and it was understood he meant his heavenly home.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Thornton McGaha; five siblings, Dorothy Self, Charles McGaha, Darlene Allen, Gerald McGaha and Harold McGaha.

He is survived by his son, Terry McGaha and wife Audrea; daughter, Melanie McGaha Van Dorn and husband Roger; five grandchildren, Jenna McGaha, Jordon McGaha, Breanna Fetterman, Anthony Watts, and Kayla Bartel; thirteen great-grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Mary Helen Barton; brother, Larry McGaha; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Allen, Lee McGaha, Chris Kirk, Gregg Kirk, David Barton and Rodney Barton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Self, Keith McGaha, Dwayne Walker, Ronnie Jenkins, and David Aycock.
