Funeral services for Reginald Boyd Rowell, 79, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Ed Smith.
Reggie was born on March 17, 1943 in Bienville, Louisiana to Boyd and Joy Rowell and passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Reggie is a Vietnam veteran and Bronze Star recipient, having served in the United States Army. He was a Sheriff's Deputy in Bienville Parish for seven years. During his time in the oil and gas industry, he served over 30 years as an offshore Personnel Director. He was a member and Deacon of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Doyline, Louisiana. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and softball. Reggie liked to have fun and enjoy life. To know him, was to love him and he will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Agnes R. Hay and Brenda Kaye Rowell. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Evelyn Rowell; son, Billy Rowell and wife, Angela of Bossier City, Louisiana; grandchildren, Phillip Rowell, Jeffrey Rowell and Sarah Rowell; great-granddaughter, McKenize; sisters, Priscilla Hughes and Linda Rowell, both of Heflin, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Reggie as pallbearers will be James Caskey, Willard "Buster" Flowers, Kade Hay, Jerry Rowell, Rob McGill and Larry Hedrick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
