Rebecca "Becky" Collins

Rebecca Snider Collins, age 66, of Homer, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on January 7, 1959, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Clarence and Verna Snider. Known affectionately as Becky to her family and friends, she was a 1977 graduate of Junction City High School, where she was a proud member of the Dragon Band.

Becky lived a life centered around caring for others, creativity, and faith. She worked as a nurse at Presbyterian Village, where her compassion and quiet strength left a lasting impact. She was also a gifted seamstress and owner of Granny B’s Clothesline, where she lovingly designed and sewed children’s clothing. She shared her beautiful work at craft shows across the region, and each piece reflected her attention to detail and her love for family and tradition.

A lover of old treasures and timeless charm, Becky enjoyed visiting antique stores wherever she went, always finding joy in the search.

She was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church in Homer, where she faithfully led the Comfort Ministry, offering care, encouragement, and a helping hand to those in need. Becky truly had a servant’s heart and was happiest when doing for others.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Mark Lane Collins; her daughters, Hillary Gray and husband Billy, and Sarah Trickett and husband Jon Daniel; and her treasured grandchildren, Brantley Gray and Lane Gray, who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Verna Snider.

A funeral service celebrating Becky’s life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church 501 West Third Street, Homer, Louisiana. Interment will be at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana. Visitation will be at the church from 9-10 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Comfort Ministry at Cornerstone Church, a ministry that Becky deeply loved and faithfully served.

Rebecca “Becky” Collins will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet generosity, and enduring love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the clothes she lovingly made, and the comfort she gave so freely.

Becky’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Samuel K. Abshire and wife Camille, Bristol Hospice and staff, and the team within Claiborne Memorial Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit for their care and compassion shown towards her.
