Raymond Lee Paddie, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man of quiet strength, passed away peacefully after a battle with pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy built on love, service, and family.
Born February 20, 1935, in Zwolle, Louisiana, Ray was the 6th of nine siblings. He passed away on July 12, 2025.
He answered the call to serve his country during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that shaped his deep sense of duty and humility. After returning home, he spent four decades working at Beard Industries in Shreveport, Louisiana, where his strong work ethic and reliability made a lasting impact on his family and friends.
For 67 cherished years, Ray was married to Janice Moore Paddie, and together, they built a life grounded in steadfast dedication to family. He was a devoted father to his son, Gregg Paddie, and daughter, Tamara Grimm. Gregg and his wife Juli gave Ray two grandsons, Hunter and Jake, while Tamara blessed him with two more, Fischer and Brady.
Affectionately known as "Pop" to his grandsons, Ray was never happier than when he was surrounded by them. Whether he was faithfully sitting in the stands at their baseball, football, or soccer games or simply spending time at his beloved lake house on Lake Bisteneau-fishing, building, or just "piddling"-he poured his heart into his "grandboys" and the moments that mattered most.
Ray was a quiet and private man, known for his kind spirit, steady presence, and the deep love he held for his family. His grandsons were the light of his life, and his unwavering support and gentle encouragement were gifts they will carry with them forever.
Ray Paddie's sweet spirit and quiet strength will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and the quiet beauty of a life well-lived. The family would like to thank Dr.
Anil Veluvolu, Dr. Eric Smith, and Lifepath Hospice for their kindness and unwavering support.
