A memorial service for Raymond Leslie Cline Jr. will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Dr. Bossier City, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Miles Holladay.

Ray was born on May 11, 1943, in Lyons, Kansas to Raymond L Cline Sr. and Virginia Brownie Brown and passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Ray was a retired Petty Officer First Class after serving his country for 20 years in the United States Navy. He served aboard several ships ranging from destroyers to aircraft carriers in the Pacific Fleet. He served aboard the USS Jamestown which collected electronics intelligence off the coast of Vietnam during the war.

Following his Naval career, he returned to Bossier City and worked and retired from McElroy Metals Inc. In 1992 He married his wife Sue and moved to Haughton. Ray and Sue loved traveling all over the United States. After 50 long years, The Search Angels were able to reunite Ray with his daughter, Joanne, and her family. He loved spending many hours on the phone with them, catching up for lost years. Ray enjoyed daily coffee with friends at the Haughton Waffle House.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda Sue Cline. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter; Joanne Drevant and husband, Craig of Alberta Canada; step-son, Barry Phipps and wife, Francis of Minden, Louisiana; sisters, Karen Sheppard of Bossier City, Louisiana, Sandi Haskins and husband, John of Derby Kansas, Diana Heston and husband, Lonnie of Haysville Kentucky and Charlene Bettinger and husband, Bruce of Derby Kansas; brothers, Mark Cline and wife, Tammy of Forney Texas, and Monte Cline and wife, Jennifer of Parker Kansas; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
