Ray H. Areng

SHREVEPORT, LA - Ray H Areng passed away on Friday, September 30^th in Shreveport, Louisiana. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29^th at Nicky's Mexican Restaurant on Mansfield Road at 6:00 pm. Ray was born on August 21, 1928 in Tallinn, Estonia. He emigrated to the United States in 1951 and has been a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana and Shreveport. Ray retired from AT&T in 1984 and enjoyed his days outdoors and playing golf at Meadow Lake Golf Club every day since. Ray also enjoyed boating as a member of Caddo Dixie Cruising Club and Shreveport Power Squadron. He sailed many waters with the clubs and his son, Jason and family. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Helga Areng, father, Arnold Areng, and Aunt Helmi Birmingham. Ray is survived by his son Jason and his wife Renée, grandson Nicholas, his brother Veljo Areng, his previous wife and friend, Nancy Areng and their families.
