Randy was born on September 4, 1961 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Henry Hartley Knowles and Patricia Taliaferro Patti Knowles and passed away Monday, May 11, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Knowles; mother and father-in-law, Tommy and Juanita Stewart; brothers-in-law, Ralph Guidry Jr. and Jim Gray and honorary parents, Mansel and LaVerne Holmes. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Knowles; children, Taylor Knowles and girlfriend, Skylar, Peyton Knowles and wife, Morgan and Randi Leigh Collins and husband, Dustin; grandchildren, Cooper Knowles, Hartley Collins, Graham Collins and his best fishing buddy, Remi; brothers, Reginald Knowles and wife, Susie and Rex Knowles and wife, Liz and sisters-in-law, Donna Guidry, Diana Barbier and husband, Gene, Carolyn Gray and Alicia Clutts and husband, Craig and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Randy was a giver down to his core. He cared for the needs of others and everyone who knew him considered his friendship a treasure. Whether Randy was giving his time, his prayers, his resources, or his incredible food, he was a generous man.
Randy didn’t just see every glass half full, but he saw it overflowing. That’s one reason Randy was such an honorable, good, and successful man in everyone’s eyes. He never judged anyone from outward appearances but took time to value each person for who they really were. When he met someone, he listened to see how he might help them along their way, especially if he could help them find Jesus. Of all Randy’s gifts, his courageous ability to share his faith with others made the most lasting impact.
Randy still had dreams of more he could do for God here on Earth, and now from Heaven, he will watch as his legacy continues to bring those dreams to pass. His children and grandchildren are that legacy, the pride of his life. He would give anything and everything to see them happy and successful, serving the Lord with all their hearts.
Randy loved fishing, and they say if Randy planned to go fishing, the weather would clear up just for him! That must be because God knew fishing would give Randy the time he needed with his boys, times they will cherish for life.
Time with family and friends meant the world to Randy, but nothing was more important to him than time with Mary, his best friend in this world. Randy’s greatest desire was for Mary’s happiness, and his greatest hope would be for her to find comfort during this unbearable time.
Randy’s sudden passing has left a void in our hearts which can now only be filled by the love he gave us, the life he invested in us, and the light which floods our memories. Our comfort is to know that Randy Knowles has heard his name spoken by the One who saved him and made a place for him in eternity, where we will surely see him again.
Honoring Randy as pallbearers will be Dustin Collins, Jeff Churchman, Bryan Green, Quinton Light, Tracy Davis and Mason McDowell.
