Ramona Ann Pickett

Funeral services for Ramona Ann Gibson Pickett, 56, will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joey Ketchum. Ramona was born on January 11, 1966 to Raymond Alton Gibson and Bobbie Jo Derisseaux in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Shreveport. Ramona was a resident of Stonewall and worked at Shreveport Baptist Temple as a pre-school teacher and helped her daughter, Ciara, at her boutique, Savage Roots. She was passionate about teaching and loving on her students. She also was a great lover of basketball. She was a ray of sunshine. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family. She married David Wayne Pickett on April 4, 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Wayne Pickett; nieces, Deana Barton and Patricia Lydia Gabilanez; brothers-in-law, Cordell Houston and Danny Houston. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David Pickett; daughter, Ciara Pickett and fiancé, Daniel Britt; sisters, Peggy Smoak and husband, Ernie, Glenda Lagars, and Gailda Zabriskie; mother-in-law, Lydia Pickett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Ramona as pallbearers are Daniel Britt, Seth Russell, Brandon Lagars, Mickey Smoak, Clint Pickett, and Wayne Pickett.
