Funeral services for Philip Parrie, Jr, 86, will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 307 Hammond St., Zwolle, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Hwy, Many, Louisiana. A burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Father Keith Garvin.
Philip, also known as Hemmie, was born at home in Zwolle, Louisiana on August 30, 1940 to Philip Parrie and Elvie Parrie. He passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026 in Zwolle, Louisiana.
Hemmie worked in the logging industry for about 70 years.
Hemmie is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Parrie; parents, Philip and Elvie Parrie, one brother and five sisters.
He is survived by his children, Dean Parrie and wife, Luci Jo, of Zwolle, Louisiana, Steven Parrie and wife, Rachel, of Zwolle, Louisiana, Eric Parrie and wife, Cindy, of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Melissa Parrie of Zwolle, Louisiana; grandchildren, Heather Sepulvado and husband, Jeremy, Steven Parrie, Jr. and wife, Amanda, Hilary Remedies and husband, Toby, Hallie Parrie, Shelby Leone and husband, Jacob, Austin Parrie and fiancé, Theresa, Jostin Parrie, Joshua Parrie, and River Parrie and special friend, Jaycee; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Aniston, Bentley, MyLeigh, Emersyn, Cambree, Penelope, Harlee, Brody, Kynadei, and Madelyn; siblings, Raymond Parrie, Elsie Parrie, Lucy Boudreaux, Bea Parrie, Martha Etheridge, and Donald Parrie.
Honoring Hemmie as pallbearers will be Steven Parrie, Jr., Austin Parrie, Jostin Parrie, Joshua Parrie, River Parrie, Bentely Remedies, and Brody Parrie. Serving as honorary pallbearers are his nephews and KLM Logging Crew.
Services and care were provided to the family by Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana.
