Peter "Pete" Leroy Holley passed away on July 31, 2018, at the age of 72.
Visitation will be held at Rose Neath Southside on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life from 7-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS would be appreciated.
Born in New York on August 6, 1945, Pete attended 13 schools before graduating from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA. He traveled with his family as his father had a 23-year career in the military. After his father passed away, Pete went to work to help support his mother and brothers. His brothers share fond memories of Pete's dedication and hard work to provide for them.
Pete attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where he met the love of his life, Margie. Pete received his degree from Nova University and his MBA from LSUS. Pete and Margie shared 50 years of marriage before he lost her to ALS in 2015.
Pete's one-of-a-kind personality was highlighted by his wit, humor, intelligence, generosity, and the respect he rendered to all that he met. Some of Pete's closest and longest friendships stem from his 30+ years of work at Western Electric. He was an active member of Northwood Country Club, Krewe of Centaur and very involved with the Fair Park High School class of 1963. Pete's phenomenal memory was characterized by remembering all his friends' birthdays and anniversaries.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Cecilia Holley; his wife of 50 years, Margie Holley; and his nephew Blake Murray. He is survived by his son, Brian Holley and grandsons Layton and Noah of Houston, TX; his daughter, Tracy Holley of Plano, TX; his brothers, Michael Holley (Ina) of Seattle, WA, and Pat Holley (Janice) of Sugar Land, TX and his sister-in-law Glenda (George) Osteen; his nieces and nephews; and his many special friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Monsour, John Fuller, Neil Kalberg, Debbie Graves, and HBO.
