Peggy Ann Payne

Graveside services for Peggy Ann Davenport Payne, 94, will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Highway 80, Haughton, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m.

Peggy was born on June 15, 1929, in Logansport Louisiana to Ralph and Mae Davenport, and passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Peggy was an active member of The Church of the Nazarene. One of her favorite pastimes was genealogical research. Her decades of long pursuit of family history and new family members took her and her late husband I.B., across the country. She faithfully pursued this research even in her final days, illustrating once again how much family meant to her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mae; brother, Joe Davenport; sister, Faye Davenport Payne; husband, I.B. Payne and son, Rocque Payne. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Doug Payne and wife, Jean, and Kevin Payne and wife, Deborah; daughter, Kaydonna Pooler and husband, Mark; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Deutsch and Sara Spears; a special niece that she loved as a daughter, Laura Lee Hedgepeth, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
