Peggy Jo Chester was born on January 23, 1952, to Clyde Chester and Thelma Mays in Quincy, Florida, and passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, with many loved ones by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, creativity, and cherished memories.
On August 18, 1968, Peggy Duncan married the love of her life, Ronald Howard Duncan. Together, they built an empire based on caring for others. Peggy had a remarkable way of making people feel welcomed and loved. She had a generous heart and often welcomed everybody she met into her life, treating them like family. Her loving and compassionate nature touched the lives of many.
Peggy enjoyed shopping and had a special talent for creating beautiful floral arrangements. Her creativity was evident in the things she made and the care she put into them. Along with creating things, she was an amazing cook; everyone from far and wide bragged about her famous potato soup because it was made with her love.
Peggy was also a strong and sometimes stern woman who was never afraid to speak her mind or stand firm when it mattered.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Chester and Thelma Mays; brother, Sameual Chester; and husband, Ronald Howard Duncan.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kay Duncan; granddaughter, Taylor Cheyenne Duncan Barkley, and husband, Torrance “T.J.” Barkley; three great-grandchildren, Bartley Flanery, Daniel Flanery, and Aubrey Flanery. She is also survived by extended family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and loved ones forever.
Honoring Peggy as pallbearers will be Barry Webster, Brandon Wimberly, Philip Hicks, James Rhodes, Dempsey Flanery III, and Lesley “Cowboy” Donnell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Andres Ramirez and Bryan Contreras.
