Peggy Ann Byers

A memorial service honoring the life of Peggy Ann Byers will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Peggy's former student, Pastor Jonathan Posey. Peggy Ann Byers was born August 1, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Regina "Jean" M. and Fred E. Byers and passed away peacefully Monday, October 11, 2021 in Shreveport. Peggy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northeast University and had a prolific career as an actress. She performed in several national tours of Broadway shows and also starred in many regional and local theatre productions. She traveled and worked in many cities across the United States including San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and New York. After returning from New York to Shreveport she began teaching classes at Bossier Parish Community College. Peggy touched the lives of many of her students and will always be remembered for her kindness and unique wit and her abundant vocal and acting talent. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lorraine J. Byers. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Kathy J. Byers, and Maureen E. Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
