Paula passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born on July 15, 1942, in Palestine, Texas, Paula was the beloved daughter of Clay Charles Brown and Gladys Geneva Parker Brown.

Paula was a 1960 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and went on to build a successful career as a hairdresser. For many years, she brought beauty, laughter, and friendship into the lives of her clients and community. She was married to the love of her life, Don Flynn, for 56 wonderful years. Together, they raised a loving family and created countless cherished memories.

Paula was a devoted mother, “Mamaw,” and great-grandmother. She lived life to the fullest, always ready for an adventure, no matter how challenging it might have been. Her spirit was vibrant, her smile infectious, and her personality lit up every room she entered. She never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path.

She had a strong faith and a heart for the Lord. On April 28, 2024, Paula joyfully rededicated her life to Christ, a moment of deep personal peace and renewed spiritual purpose. She loved Jesus and found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life.

Her love extended beyond her family and friends to animals – always showing compassion and care for her pets and others. Paula also had a beautiful singing voice and a deep love for music, which brought joy to those around her. She was a lover of life, fiercely devoted to her family, and deeply cherished by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Flynn; her parents, Clay and Geneva Brown; her brother, Charles Brown; her sister, Susan Brown; and her daughter, Tracy Pardue.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Allen “Bobby” Flynn; daughter, Lisbeth Schochler and her husband, Travis; and brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Richard and Marsha Brown. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Samantha Headley (Travis), Laura Dean (Ryan), Tabatha Codarin (Vincent), Brad Pardue, Yasmine Cook, Keagan Johnson, Jackson Schochler, Madison Schochler; great-grandchildren, Colton Reno, Apollo Headley, Tinley Dean, Forrest Dean, and Vinny Codarin.

Honoring Paula as pallbearers will be Ryan Dean, Vincent Codarin, Taylor Ward, Travis Headley, Danny Cook, and James Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Flynn, Bradley Pardue, Keagan Johnson, and Jackson Schochler.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all the friends and family who have loved and supported our sweet Paula – our Mamaw. Your love and presence have been a true blessing in her life and ours. Thank you!
