Paula Childress

Funeral service celebrating the life of Paula Childress, 68, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2025, at Mitchell Baptist Church with Junior Ott and Bro. Bobby Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Converse Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2025, at Mitchell Baptist Church.

Paula was born on July 24, 1957, in Zwolle, Louisiana to Melton Ott and Peggy Wedgeworth and passed away November 25, 2025, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Melton and Peggy Ott; daughter, Robin Childress; sister, Nancy Davis; grandson, Baby Boy Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Wayne Childress; son, Wayne Childress, Jr.; daughter, Elizabeth Moore (Christopher); sisters, Christy Baker (Allen), Sherie Hamilton, Karen Ott, and half- sister Suzanne Hunt; half-brother, Kendall Jones; grandchildren, Hannah Vaughn, Timothy Childress, Hailey Robinson, Heidi Vaughn, Christopher Moore, and Kairi Moore; great grandchild, Robyn Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honoring Paula as pallbearers will be Paul Craig, Robert Bremmer, Clint Houston, Jack Sistrunk, Max Savage, Justin Childress, Eddy Ryals, and Richard Childress.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tim Greene, Jimmy Brown, Peck Taylor, and Valerie McDonald.
