Paul Rhett Pierce, Sr.

Funeral services for Paul Rhett Pierce, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Brother Roger Morton. Paul was born on April 14, 1940 to Julian and Ruth Pierce in Jackson, Mississippi and passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Paul was an active member of Barron Road Baptist Church for over 25 years. He loved his church and his church loved him. He was in the transportation business his whole life. He was a truck driver for many years before he started driving vehicles for car companies, where he was still working up until his passing. Paul is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Paula Suzanne Pierce. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Arlene Pierce; son, Paul Pierce, Jr. and wife, Mary; daughters, Deanna Cooper and Carla Lucero and husband, Ronnie; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, James Gurley and Mickey Pierce; sister, Cissy Wiggins; nieces, Shannon Busby and Erin Grable and many extended family members. Honoring Paul as pallbearers will be Phillip Magill, Ernest Mitchell, Cody Boyd, Paul Pratt, Jr., Trey McGrew, Lucky Busby and Donnie Peters. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at the VA Hospital and Christus Hospice for their care and compassion given to Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Barron Road Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1102 Barron Rd., Keithville, LA 71047.
