ASHLAND, LA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Patsy Ruth Coffey, 85, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Ashland Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Leach, Bro. David Bolyer, and Bro. Jerry Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Hathorn Cemetery near Ashland, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 24th, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Coushatta, Louisiana.
Patsy was born on April 5th, 1934 in Clarks, Louisiana to Amos Forrest McDaniel and Iona Henderson McDaniel, and passed away May 20th, 2019 in Bossier, Louisiana. She loved singing in the choir, dancing, roller-skating, and horseback riding. She and her husband Donnie met while riding horses. She had a zest for life and never met a stranger, and made sure no one ever left her house hungry. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donnie Max Coffey, two infant sons Micheal Lane and Carol Wayne, and her brothers Edward, Fred, and Dennis McDaniel. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Lynn Coffey, Patti Ann Moffett and husband Rodney, Tami Rene Litton and husband Dooley, and Terri Sue Coffey and husband Andy; her sister, Ann Blackwell and husband Joe; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren.
Honoring Patsy as pallbearers will be Braddox Johnson, Tim Moffett, Kade Hay, Patrick Moffett, John David Moffett, and Keith Blackwell. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Hathorn, Jason Hathorn, Jared Hathorn, Joshua Hathorn, Brandon Johnson, Hendrix Johnson, Chase Bradford, and Barrett Ebey.
