Patrick Mitchell Norris

Funeral services for Patrick Mitchell Norris, 74, will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Patrick was born on April 24, 1951, in Butler, Pennsylvania to Vernon Ellis Norris and Elizabeth Mae Millard Norris and passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Shreveport.

Patrick was self-sufficient, creative, and always spoke highly of his crew, “Me, myself, and I.” He graduated from Mars High School, Class of 1969, where he was an outstanding cross-country athlete. He was a graduate of Butler County Community College with an associate’s degree in applied science. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and completed 43 weeks of Technical School at Lowery Air Force Base. He ended six years of service with sergeant rank at Barksdale Air Force Base. He was employed for 33 years with General Motors where he completed an Apprenticeship Electrician Program and became a Journeyman Electrician.He also worked for four years as a driver at Red River Trailways.

Patrick married the love of his life, Denise Theresa Norris, on November 15, 1975, and was to celebrate 50 years of marriage next month. His hobbies included any type of woodworking project and projects around the house. He was always ready to lend a helping hand with no project too big or too small. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was an inventor of a patented sheet material dispenser. He was a history buff, loved to travel and take road trips, and loved his family.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Ellis Norris and Elizabeth Mae Millard Norris; brothers, Calvin Baldwin Norris, Harry Martin Norris, and Richard McFarland. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Denise Theresa Norris; son, Christopher Patrick Norris and his wife, Alisha Loraine Norris; granddaughter, Kambry Ann Roach; grandson, Rylan Christopher Norris; daughter, Kimberly Denise Varnell and husband, Daniel Scott Varnell; grandsons, Nathan Daniel Varnell, Caleb Patrick Varnell and Luke Byron Varnell; daughter, Holly Theresa Brooks and husband, Colton Chase Brooks; grandson, Wiley Chase Brooks; and granddaughter, Madelyn Paige Brooks; siblings, sisters, Kathryn Ann Callihan and husband, Philip Martin Callihan, Judy Norris Himes and husband, Jay Denis Himes, Mary Bell Norris and husband, Joseph Albert Alioto.

Honoring Patrick as pallbearers will be Daniel Varnell, Chase Brooks, Rylan Norris, Nathan Varnell, Caleb Varnell, and Rick Calhoan. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Wiley Brooks.
