Patricia "Trisha" McKee Spurlock

Funeral services for Patricia "Trisha" McKee Spurlock, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Ellerbe Road Baptist Church, 10705 Ellerbe Rd, Shreveport, LA. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at Hurricane Cemetery in Arcadia, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dennis Sims. Trisha was born on August 21, 1948 in Minden, LA to B. Garland McKee, Jr. and Grace E. McKee and she entered Heaven to live forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Bossier City, LA. Trisha grew up in an Airforce family and had the opportunity to travel all over the world to include Wiesbaden, Germany, Madrid, Spain, and Guam. She ended her family travels in Shreveport, graduating from C.E. Byrd High School and attended Louisiana Tech University, receiving her B.A. in Elementary Education in 1973. On July 27, 1991 she married the love of her life, Rick L. Spurlock. She taught 4th grade at University Elementary School, St. Katherine's and St. Joseph Schools in Shreveport. Trisha was an outstanding teacher and truly loved her job and the children she taught over the years. She was a godly woman and faithful servant, serving in many ministries at both Second Baptist Church in Houston and Ellerbe Road Baptist Church. Her vibrant personality and beautiful smile left a lasting impact on so many. She adored and loved her six grandchildren and they will miss their Mimi very much. She is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Rick L. Spurlock; sons, Eric N. Gates Jr. and wife, Sarina of San Antonio, TX and Brian L. Spurlock and wife, Brandi of Ruston, LA; daughter, Angela G. Spurlock of Richmond, TX; grandchildren, Austin Gates, Lane Spurlock, Cole Spurlock, Abigail Gates, Amelia Gates and Kennedy Spurlock; sisters, McKee Anderson of Los Angeles, CA and Joyce McKee of New York City, NY; uncle, Mike McKee and wife, Dona of Woodstock, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. Honoring Trisha as pallbearers will be Eric Gates, Brian Spurlock, Austin Gates, Lane Spurlock, Cole Spurlock and Jacob Berman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike McKee and Jules Berman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or the Hurricane Cemetery Association, 2213 Hwy. 519, Athens, LA 71003.
