Patricia T Daniel

Known as Patti to her friends and family, she was born January 22, 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. 

She graduated from Bolton High School in 1964, and attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She completed her Master’s plus 30 hours at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Patti was an educator in the Louisiana school system for 38 years, devoting her career to both students and administration. She was a Certified Reading Specialist for grades 1–4, a Certified Supervisor for Student Teachers, and a member of Phi Delta Kappa, serving as both Vice President and President. She was also a Certified Teacher in Mediation Training for educators across the state. Patti published two interactive activity books for students and teachers: “All Aboard for Hammond” and “My Town in Louisiana.” Additionally, she served as coordinator for the SLU School Improvement Program and the Stanford Achievement Test, was recognized as Teacher of the Year in Tangipahoa Parish, and was awarded the “Excellence in Teaching Award” by the Junior League of Alexandria. 

Patti loved teaching and devoted much of her retirement to helping children. She worked tirelessly at First United Methodist Church in Hammond, Mansfield, and Alexandria, supporting and teaching in the youth programs. She was instrumental in starting the Children’s Art Exhibit for the Tom Peyton Arts Festival at First United Methodist Church in Alexandria and founded the STARS after-school program at Rugg Elementary to support students needing additional help. Her ladies' church study group transitioned into the “Jolly Beggars,” which continues today. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Stella Turner, and her sister, Terri Juneau.

 Patti loved life, her friends, and her family. We will forever be grateful for her laughter and positive outlook.

 Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Kenneth G. Daniel; her son, Richard Lane Daniel (Tasha); her daughter, Lindsey Daniel Allen (Kyle); three stepchildren, Keely Bosley (Bo), Mike Daniel (Sherry), and Kyle Daniel (Allison); 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Memory Care Unit in Bossier City and Hand In Hand Hospice for their deep concern and support.
