A great light has gone out of this world. Pamela West Teeters, 73, of Shreveport, Louisiana peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Pam was born in Monahans, Texas on August 14, 1952, to Johnnie James West, Jr. and Shirley Jean Ottaberry. Due to a bit of car trouble in 1953 while on a trip to Shreveport. Louisiana, a great matriarch came into her life.
Pam graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1970 and hired on with South Central Bell as a telephone operator. She completed a 40-year career at the phone company and retired as a Field Network Manager. One of her true passions was her telephone company career, where she considered the men and women she worked with for 40 years her extended family. She mentored (mothered) many others to go on to also have great careers at Bell South/AT&T. To this day. Pam is still highly regarded as one of the greatest people to have ever worked at the phone company.
Pam is better known as Mom Pam to everyone because that is what she was. A mother to all. When you needed a hug, she was there. When you needed a shoulder to lean on, there she was. When you did not want it but needed the truth, there she was, right there for anything and everything. It did not matter who you were. Mom Pam never turned a soul away. Pam loved her family, never missed a birthday, never missed a special occasion. Christmas was all together a different time for her. Pam cherished the season to be with family, and every Christmas was made special by her. She would not only make a special time for her family, but also would provide for other families for the holiday season so other children would have something special.
Pam spent many summers camping from Lake O’ Pines and Caddo Lake to Arkansas and Missouri rivers and mountains. Then there was the 4x4 club, The Rough Riders, where she would run the wheels off a 1978 Ford Bronco racing through the mud across the sand bars on the Red River. Pam loved watching her LSU Tigers in Death Valley, Baton Rouge and on TV. She would make the home games in Baton Rouge until the stairs got to be too much. Then there was NASCAR, another favorite pastime of hers. Pam loved to travel and see the country. From sea to shining sea, she has traveled there, from Disney World in Orlando, Florida to Disneyland in California, New York City to Mount Rushmore.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard West; sister, Deborah Johnson; and son, Trey Teeters Left to cherish Pam's memory is her lifelong love, Darrel Estien; son. Toby Teeters (Marie); daughter, Tonya Hamilton (Terry); seven grandchildren, Brittany Walker (Jeff), Ayden Teeters, Rory Teeters, Jolie Soignier, Scarlett Teeters, Magnolia Teeters, Terris Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Harper Walker, Waylon Walker, Ezekiel Barron; and a host of nieces and nephews; brother, Johnnie “Coonie” West, III (Mary), and sister-in-law, Pam Green West,
