Pamela Raye Dempsey, 67, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Clinton “C.R.” Thorn, Sr. and Annie Marie Akins Thorn, and entered the Gates of Heaven on Friday, September 20, 2024. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Clinton Ray Thorn, Jr. and her mother-in-law, Ona Burns.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Darrell Cooper.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 48 years, James “Denny” Dempsey; daughters, Allie Keith and husband, Troy, Charlene Dougharty and husband, Clayton; granddaughters, Annison Keith, Jovi Dougharty, and Maddy Dougharty; sister, Sheila Thorn; sister-in-law, Vicki Tallant and late husband, Ronnie; nieces, Leighann Gallagher, Amber Thorn and Sandra Roberts; nephews, Paul Jackson and Jim Parker; great niece, Christian Short; great nephews, Jackson and Jacob Gallagher and Anthony Ezernack along with many other special family and friends.
Pam graduated from Airline High School in 1975. Before being the BEST “Mimi” to her “grands,” she worked in finance. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Princeton. Pam first and foremost loved the Lord. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mom, Mimi, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She always had a way with words that would make your day better. She loved with everything she had. She was a blessing to many.
She enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her grands. Family meant so much to her. She had a bond with her daughters and granddaughters that was unbreakable. She adored driving the backroads with her husband and admired all things nature. She will be deeply missed, but we will find comfort knowing she is in the arms of Jesus.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the neuro-ICU staff at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, especially Dr. Carlie Proctor.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to the Caring Cabin at First Baptist Church of Princeton, 1298 Princeton Rd., Princeton, Louisiana 71067.
