Opal Dean Caston Roberts, 91, of Stanley, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on November 28, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana.
A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Amador Santos and Bro. Buck Furlow. Interment will follow the service located at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana.
Opal was born on June 22, 1929 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Hillard and Rita Caston. Opal met her "Honey" Marvin at a roller-skating rink in Mansfield. They married on October 29, 1947. She retired from DeSoto Regional Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist in 1986. Opal was a longtime member of Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, singing, and sitting on her porch swing watching the birds. She was a kindhearted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Preceding Opal in death are her parents, Hillard and Rita Caston; husband of 64 ½ years, Marvin Glenn Roberts, Sr.; son, Stephen Terrell Roberts; grandson, Corey Dean Roberts; brother, Gordon Caston; sisters, JoNell Riggs and Carolyn Moon.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Marvin "Robby" Glenn Roberts, Jr. and wife JoAnn, Randall Dean Roberts, and Tina Sheree Roberts Salley and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Stefani Kelley and husband Ryan, Cara Prestridge and husband Rich, Justin Roberts and wife Dusti, Russell Roberts, Meridith Roberts, Tara Merchant and husband Wade, Joshua Salley and wife Jessica, Donny Roberts, Joseph Salley, and Hannah Salley; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ted Roberts and wife Alice; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring Opal as pallbearers will be Russell Roberts, Donny Roberts, Justin Roberts, Joshua Salley, Joseph Salley, and Keith Parker. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Caston, Danny Roberts, Ted Roberts, and Bill Roberts.
