Opal Mozelle Middleton

HAYNESVILLE, LA: Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Opal Mozelle Birdsong Middleton, 87, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Homer, LA, on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Tim Pruitt and Rev. Timothy Pruitt, officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery near Homer, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., prior to the service. Mrs. Middleton was born November 22, 1931, in Tyler, TX, to Huey and Opal Dykes Birdsong. She entered into rest on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at her residence in Haynesville, LA. Mrs. Middleton and her husband served in the Evening Light Tabernacle church library for over 20 years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved reading His Word. Her personal joke was, "Everyone has a right to their own opinion, as long as it agrees with mine." Mrs. Middleton's smile and hugs will be greatly missed. Everyone was her darling and she never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Edward Middleton; two sons, Sonny Middleton and Tommy Middleton; two brothers, Donald Worly and Ted Blue; a granddaughter, Gatha Cheree' Middleton; a grandson, Sonny Dewayne Middleton; and a great-grandson, Andrew James Middleton. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Middleton and wife Loretta of Doyline, LA, and Vic Middleton, Sr., and wife Pamela of Homer, LA; a daughter, Martha Ludwig and Wayne of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister, Dot Shuttlesworth of Longview, TX; eleven grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Bryan Middleton, Jonathan Middleton, Victor Middleton, Jr., Timothy Hall, Daniel Middleton, and Caleb Pedersoli.
