A funeral service for Ollie Marie Delafosse, of Hessmer, will begin at 11:30am at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Marksville on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. A visitation will begin at 9:00am until time of service at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2.
Ollie Delafosse, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Hessmer Nursing Home.
Ollie found her greatest joy in caring for the people she loved. Nothing made her happier than cooking meals for her family and gathering around the table with those she cherished most. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Ollie took great pride in keeping her yard beautifully maintained and could often be found cutting grass and tending to her outdoor spaces. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including having her nails done and spending time shopping with her girls. Her loving heart, strong work ethic, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 5 children; Larry (Lisa) Dauzat, Sr. of Fifth Ward, Vicki (Harold) Dupuy of Effie, Janice (Greg) Baigi of Brookhaven, MS, Ronnie (Wilma) Delafosse of Marksville, and Connie McDonald of Mandeville, LA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Joe Delafosse; brothers, Lyman Dauzat, Audrey Dauzat; sister, Fredna Ponthier; parents, Angela and Paul Dauzat.
Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
