Olive was born on February 5, 1923, to Charles J. Greene, Jr., and Alice M. Greene in Colfax, Louisiana, and passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Olive attended Colfax High School in Colfax, Louisiana, and later continued her education at Normal College in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Marx H. Stuart, on January 1, 1942. In her younger years, she was crowned both Miss Colfax and Miss Grant Parish, a reflection of her beauty, grace, and the radiant smile everyone remembered. Olive had many hobbies, including organic gardening and sewing, and she had a deep passion for reading, especially history, traveling, and dancing to big band music. She was witty, sharp, and blessed with a remarkable memory, and she carried herself with a confidence and self‑reliance that stayed with her throughout her life.
As a military wife, Olive embraced every challenge with strength and pride. She was a true social butterfly who loved hosting gatherings, giving parties, and filling her home with laughter, music, and warmth. Dancing to big band music brought her joy, and she shared that joy freely with the people around her. Above all, Olive loved her family deeply, and that love was at the heart of everything she did. Her spirit, her smile, and the way she made others feel will always be remembered.
Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Marx H. Stuart; brothers, Charles J. Greene III, William Greene, and John Greene. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Stuart; daughter, Evelyn (Lyn) Argenbright; grandchildren, Angelique Grotheer, Shelly Niehaus, Kristi Kennedy, Byron Stuart, and John Argenbright; great-grandchildren, Logan Smith, Aiden Stuart, Owen Niehaus, Aiden Niehaus, Sidney Stuart, Jayson Argenbright, Colby Argenbright, and Harley Argenbright.
Honoring Olive as pallbearers will be John Argenbright, Byron Stuart Jayson Argenbright, Colby Argenbright, Bob Greene, Mark Niehaus, and Jeff Kennedy.
