HOMER, LA: Olin Lavelle Prince, age 91, of Homer, LA, died peacefully and surrounded by his family Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Olin was born February 18th, 1930, in Homer, to Perry "Pez" and Suzie Martin Prince. He retired from Noble Drilling where he was recognized for his outstanding safety rating during his employment. He was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was known and loved as "Uncle Olin" to many, many people.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Joyce Ann Prince; brothers James, Pete "Walton", Dub "W.D.", sisters Elvie White, Marciel "Banny" Harper, and Lucy Simons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Helen Frances Broughton Prince; grandson Marty Lowrey; granddaughter Jill Lowrey Armstrong; great granddaughters Hannah Lowrey Everett, Gracie Rankin, Teagan Lowrey; great grandson Henry Rankin; sister, Ethel Kilgore; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other loved ones.
Funeral services were held at Calvary Baptist Church in Homer, LA, on Friday, November 26th, 2021, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Tulip Cemetery in Marsalis, LA. The family received visitors at the church at 9 a.m. on the same day.
