A memorial service honoring the life of Mr. Olie Winfred Clary will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Zwolle First Baptist Church with Bro. Marty Williams and Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Olie was born March 28, 1943 in Zwolle, LA to Katie Viola (Aten) Clary and Jessie Ray Clary and he entered into rest on December 23, 2020 in Natchitoches, LA.
Olie served proudly in the United States Army where he was decorated with medals for marksman, expert rifle, and sharpshooter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Zwolle; he loved and served the Lord as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, and anywhere else he was needed.
Olie was a retired automotive instructor and taught at Arkansas Valley Technical College, Northwest Technical Institute, and Sabine Valley Technical Institute. He loved photography and enjoyed photographing his family and friends and also wildlife. In addition, he also liked writing short stories and devotions. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. Jessie Ray Clary & Mrs. Katie Clary; his sisters, Joyce Brandon and Gayle Woods; his brothers, J. R., Doyle, and Ansel Clary; and his brothers-in-law, David Milligan, Victor Brandon and Ronald Woods. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Brandon) Clary of Zwolle, LA; his son, Richard Clary & wife, Jo Margaret of Talala, OK, his daughter, Tracy Curlin & husband, Jeff of Ft. Smith, AR; his sister, Rosemary Milligan of Conway, AR; his grandchildren, Joshua Curlin, Philip Curlin, Tabitha Curlin, and Janella Ponciano. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
