Norwood Lee Pitre

A graveside service for Norwood Lee "Pete" Pitre, 90, will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana at 12:30 p.m. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 prior to the graveside service at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joe Donakey of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. Pete was born on August 24, 1931 in Washington, Louisiana to Marshall Pitre and Bridgett Pitre and passed away on October 23, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Pete was a resident of Shreveport and work as a salesman in the paper product industry before retiring. For his favorite hobby, he enjoyed fishing. He loved his family and having get-togethers with them. He enjoyed entertaining everyone with a good ol' fashion fish fry with the fish being caught by him from his many fishing trips. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War before marrying the love of his life, Mable Hood. Pete is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mable Hood Pitre. Left to cherish his memory is his son, James Lee Pitre and wife, Dinora. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed.
