Norman Jo Shirey

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. “Norma Jo” Rouse Shirey, age 92, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Ray Anderson, officiating. Interment will be at Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m., prior to the service.

Norma Jo was born November 24, 1933, in Brownwood, TX, to Joe and Beatrice Stewart Rouse. She entered into peaceful rest on July, 14, 2026, in Shreveport, LA. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ricky Shirey; and four siblings.

She is survived by son, Gary Shirey of Summerfield, LA; two daughters, Paula Farley and husband Donald of Summer, LA and Pamela Scriber and husband Larry of Lisbon, LA; son, Gary Shirey of Summerfield, LA; nine grandchildren, Melissa Saska, Jason Shirey, Allen Shirey, Dawn Bowman and Chris (Lowery), Shane Farley, Alex Farley, Amy Farley, LeeAnn Pease and husband Kevin, Jesse Scriber and wife Ashley, Erik Scriber and wife Anethlaine (A) ; fitteen great-grandchildren, Camryn Sanders, McKayla Middleton, Jake Saska, Aubree Shirey, Alanah Lowery, Laikley Lowery, Ava Farley, Weston Farley, Haley Rimmer, Zachary Perkins, Jax Scriber, Tucker Scriber, Cooper Scriber, Stephanie Scriber, and Colton Scriber; two great, great-granddaughter, Lilly Jo and Aida ;along numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Norma Jo’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Scott Haynes and Dr. Mark Haynes for the care and compassion shown her thought-out her life.

Pallbearers will be Jason Shirey, Allen Shirey, Shane Farley, Alex Farley, Jesse Scriber, Erik Scriber, Jake Saska, Weston Farley, Zachary Perkins, Jax Scriber, and Colton Scriber.
