Funeral services for Norma Jean “Poodle” Mills Ferguson will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Dee Anders officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Visitation will be July 12, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Norma Jean Mills Ferguson, affectionately known as “Poodle” walked into the Glorious Kingdom with Jesus Christ July 4, 2024. She was born on August 16, 1940, in Haynesville, LA by her late parents James and Florence Josephine Mills. She married George Ferguson on November 10, 1955, and became a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, loving Aunt and friend. She was quick to laugh and enjoyed story telling. Full of laughter and smiles, this homemaker enjoyed powder puff racing and watching family dirt track races. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and participating in the “Perch Jerkers” Fishing Club. She loved entertaining her family and never liked an empty house. Her favorite thing to do was dancing with her children and grandchildren in the kitchen to her favorite vinyl records. She loved growing and tending to her flowers and plants.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Willie and Florence Josephine Allen Mills. Beloved siblings James Thurman Mills, Obidee Mills, Mary “Sister” Lee Mills Croswell Restivo, Willie Edward Mills, Frank “Bud” Allen Mills, Joe “Boots” Crawford Mills and Peggy “Tootsie” Ruth Mills Baldree Pope.

She is survived by her husband George “Sonny” William Ferguson and brother Cecil “Pete” Ray Mills. Her loving daughters are Sherry (Randy) Allen, Loretta (Robert) Callender, Connie (Kevin) Martin, Georgia Myers, Donna (Randy) Roberts, Patricia (Jeff) Chanler, 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Honoring Norma as pallbearers are Joey Callender, Ed Watson, Wyatt Whorton, Steven Russell, Cameron Hooper and Wesley Haynes. Honorary pallbearers are Will Chanler and Jeremy Anderson.
