Nolan James Jacobs, age 75, of Marksville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on October 27, 1951, in Pineville, Louisiana, to James Jacobs and Lucille Boyer Jacobs of Marksville. He was the third of their five children.
Nolan was a man of deep faith and conviction. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and placed his hope in his Heavenly Father, both in this life and in the life to come. Through the many storms he faced, he held fast to his faith and to the hope of eternal salvation. He was known for his fervent prayer life and found great joy in serving faithfully as a deacon at Starlight Baptist Church.
Nolan loved his family and enjoyed sharing a good laugh with those he loved. He loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and gardening. As his son put it, “He most certainly had a green thumb and knew it!” Nolan believed in working hard, doing what was right, and keeping his word. These were lessons he passed on to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James Jacobs and Lucille Boyer Jacobs and his son; Jimmie Green Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife; Arlene Greenhouse Jacobs of Marksville, Children; Christopher Jacobs, Renea Jacobs, both of Pineville, Louisiana, Jason Jacobs (Karen) of Richmond, Texas, and Darrell Green (Melissa) of Austin, Texas, Grandchildren; Jason Jacobs II, Jordan Jacobs, Maxwell Jacobs, Ava Jacobs, Ja’Myrah Jacobs, Nola Green, Siblings; Charles Jacobs (Mary), Marsha Lehman (Joseph) both of Marksville, Flora Nelson, Lonnie Jacobs (Gwen), both of Alexandria, Godchildren; Wanda Jacobs-Romant, Glen Nelson Jr., Jeremiah Jacobs, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Nolan was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.
The family acknowledges, with sincere appreciation, Hospice Care, comforting messages, floral tributes, and other expressions of kindness during this time of bereavement. May God bless you all.
Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
