Nola Jean Whitson

Nola Jean Whitson, age 66, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Doyline, Louisiana. She was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and after raising her daughters in Dallas, Texas, she moved back to northwest Louisiana in 2012.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Whitson. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Laura Shives and husband Zachary, and Sarah Cox and husband Lloyd; along with her cherished granddaughters, Raelyn and Piper Shives, who affectionately called her “Darlin’”. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Joyner, along with a wide circle of friends and family who loved her dearly.

Nola’s journey was marked by courage and resilience, inspiring many with her unwavering spirit. Her warmth, kindness, and generous heart touched all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
