Nina Darlena Hicks

Darlena Hicks, age 85, of Stonewall, LA, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 4, 2026, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Charles Hicks, retiree from UOP Honeywell; her children, Russell Hicks, Karen Simmons and her husband, Cody, and Gary Hicks and his wife, Kim. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with all of her heart. Darlena was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Lillian Parker.

Darlena retired from her career at the Bankruptcy Court and was a longtime, faithful member of Calvary baptist Church, where she found comfort, fellowship, and strength throughout her life.

Serving as her pallbearers will be her grandsons: Carl Hicks, Casey Hicks, Michael Lauseng, Brenden Meade, Trey Porter and Brian Crooks. Honorary pallbearers include her great-grandsons: Aden, Beckham, Cash, Grayson, Jaxon, Kasen, Nicholas, River, Tyldon and Weston.

Services will be conducted by Pastor John Lary and Associate Pastor Will Simmons of Calvary Baptist Church at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at Rose-Neath. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport.
