Nick Felton Bowman

Our beloved husband, and father, Nick Felton Bowman passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Rae Bowman of Princeton, Louisiana; his sister, Jean Weaver of Crossett, Arkansas, and brother, Bobby Bowman of Milo, Arkansas.

He leaves behind his daughter, Lisa Wynne Bowman; his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Karla Bowman; grandchildren, Tripp Bowman, and Brooke Bowman, and adopted granddaughter, “Girl” Jillian Bean Lloyd all of Princeton, Louisiana. Pets, Jack, Josie, Emma, Louis, and Chanel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Felton Bowman and his mother, Peggy Sue Quimby Bowman, both of Warren, Arkansas.

Nick will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Nick received his bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Arkansas – Monticello in 1971 and was certified by the Data Processing Management Association. He started his career as a self-employed data processing consultant eventually moving to WEHCO Media Inc. in Little Rock, Arkansas. He moved to Georgia Pacific Corporation in Crossett, Arkansas where he was a cost accountant. In 1979 he joined Century Telephone as a systems manager and held several positions within the company. He retired from CenturyTel in June 2002 as Vice-President of Operations.

He pursued his love of flying by serving his country in the Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserves before retiring on Dec 2, 1996.  During his 26 years of service, Nick proudly flew the T-37, T-38, KC-135, F-100, A-37 and the A-10.  His last assignment was as the Vice Wing Commander for the 917th Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base. He often mentioned and cherished the time he deployed alongside his son, Ben in 1995 to Aviano Air Base Italy in support of OPERATION DENY FLIGHT.

After retiring from the military and CenturyTel he focused his time on traveling, fishing, and spending time with family.

Nick will be cremated at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date.  At this time the family suggests that donations may be made to the cancer charity of your choice instead of flowers or other gifts.
